Welcome to the Mallards Nest, a beautiful, self-catering, hideaway for two, in the picturesque village of Cartmel, Cumbria.
Overlooking the majestic Cartmel Priory, Mallards Nest is an ideal base from which to explore the stunning South Lakes and Cumbrian coast. Sleeping up to 2 guests in a cosy double bedroom the Mallards Nest is a perfect hideaway for couples while being in the heart of this bustling Lakeland village.
The apartment is beautifully furnished to provide a very comfortable stay, whatever the season. The living space is open-plan with a light and airy lounge area giving views over to the Priory buildings and grounds. There’s an intimate dining area alongside the well appointed kitchen, where cooks will find everything they need, close at hand.
The double bedroom is tastefully decorated and abounds with sumptuous soft furnishings and textiles. There’s also a TV for early nights and late mornings.
As with the whole apartment, the bathroom is spotlessly clean with both bath and shower and includes a washing machine for guests use.
The prices for the apartment includes all power, heat and light, bed linen, towels, and bathrobes. We also provide a small range of toiletries, tea, coffee and sugar and some kitchen consumables. We do not ask for a bond but do request that guests pay for any significant damages incurred during their stay.
There is free parking available opposite the apartment.
Mallards Nest is has a no smoking policy throughout the apartment.
Cartmel Village is a popular but unspoilt place to stay, being home to several inns, tea shops and other eating places, including the renown L’Enclume restaurant. The Mallards Nest itself shares Devonshire Buildings with the Mallard Tea Shop where guests can indulge in delicious homemade cakes and scones. Around the village can be found a number of interesting shops offering a range of goods from fine foods to handicrafts.
The bustle of village life becomes vibrant when the Cartmel Races hit the village during the Spring and August Bank Holidays, and Cartmel is alive with the excitement of this colourful and popular race meeting, held at one of the most attractive courses in the country.
Exploring the South Lakes from Cartmel reveals some of the most enchanting and wonderful scenery in Britain. With some of the best known visitor locations in the Lake District just a short drive away. Guests at the Mallards Nest can take in the towns of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside but will surely discover for themselves the charms of some of the quieter places along the way. We are always happy to advise our guests and help them make the most of their stay, should they wish it.
